CHAPTER 3 (Princess Malou and Prince JV)

Wicked Genie, Wicked Fate

Then, Princess Malou and Prince JV offered bread and wine to the beggar but as soon as they looked straight in his eyes, they recognized him. It was Romel. Romel laughed loudly as he saw Princess Malou. He said the castle Princess Malou owned was only very small compared to his and that her wealth was less than his. He also said that one day the castle where they lived would be ruined and be burnt to ashes. He also said that one day Princess Malou would wake up in the morning with Prince JV dead.

Princess Malou was so frightened about what Romel said and in anger, she shut the gate and went straight to her bed. In night time, she dreamt everything Romel has told her and she bursted into tears when she woke up the following morning. She then started to look for Romel everywhere in the streets but she could not find him. She went to the garbage area where Romel usually stayed but he was no longer there. She only found another beggar named Ishan. She asked Ishan of the whereabouts of Romel but Ishan told her that Romel was dead two months ago. He was deeply hit by a moving truck as he was crossing the street.

Upon hearing the whole story, Princess Malou cried aloud but Ishan interrupted. He said Romel told him to tell Princess Malou to be careful of the genie inside the trash can for one day it would be the cause of her grief. The genie would take away the castle he has given them for jealousy of Prince JV and kill the prince in her own hands at night. Romel said that the only way to prevent all these from happening was to burn the trash can so that the genie in it would also die.

Princess Malou could not believe everything she heard but she followed just as Ishan had told her. She burned the trash can and buried it on the ground and the genie in it also died. Everything in her dream no longer came true and once again the fright in Princess Malou’s heart was gone and they lived happily ever after.
